Waxed cotton is cotton that is impregnated with paraffin at the weaving stage and treated with wax after the fabric is made. This procedure has made the fabric waterproof, dirt-repellent, non-blowing, stiff and moldable. The material has a memory effect when crumpled. The jams in the fabric are a decorative effect;
Machine washing is prohibited as hot water may wash away the waxed finish
